Prairie Arts: Teco Art Pottery
Prairie Arts is a firm dedicated to devleoping quality home products in the spirit of hte ARts and Crafts movement. They seek to adhere to the movement's philosophy of craftsmanship, honesty of materials, and improvement of life through the creation of beautiful, useful objects. Among other lines, they manufacture the classic Teco (an abbreviation of TErra COtta) art pottery which was originally produced from 1899 through 1920 by the American Terra Cotta and Ceramics Company. The line, noted for its clean, geometric forms and simple, classic shapes, was designed by such notable designers as W. D. Gates(the founder of the company), Fritz Albert, William Mundie, Fernand Moreau and Frank Lloyd Wright.
