For parents keen on keeping chemicals away from their newborns, Nook Sleep Systems offers the Pebble Organic mattress, which is made with eucalyptus, organic cotton, organic wool, and natural latex, among a few other components. The water-resistant, washable cover's raised pattern endowed the name and was designed to increase airflow through the mattress. The Pebble Organic isn't inexpensive, however, so as an alternative to the $550 mattress, the company recently released the $295 Pebble Lite, which boasts many of the same organic materials as the Pebble Organic but contains a non-toxic foam core instead of an organic, natural latex middle.
