San Francisco dining room with chandelier and Eames shell chairs

This San Francisco home in the Theatre Lofts building, built in 1926 as a movie palace, was given a sophisticated upgrade by LOCZIdesign. The dining room features vintage Eames shell chairs with new walnut legs, an Ovaata Dining Table by Element Living, and a Gala 7220 chandelier by Rich Brilliant Willing.

Florida Street renovation open-concept bedroom

Movable and space-saving design elements define this creative 650 square foot family home in San Francisco's Mission District.

The option of having an extra bedroom for their growing family was an attractive one for residents Zachary Scholz and Felisa Preskill as they looked to expand the living area of their cozy home. In doing so, they found themselves “cramming a full program into not that much space,” says Scholz. To achieve this, and still maintain a sense of fluidity and openness, the new master bedroom and bathroom were designed as a nontraditional open-concept space, without a continuous dividing wall between them. The light, airy bedroom features a custom LW bed and wall-hung side tables, both by San Francisco-based OHIO Design, along with a steel-and-white-oak lamp by Rich Brilliant & Willing.

bedroom in vinegar hill apartment

In an industrial part of Brooklyn, architect Sarah Zames transformed these two unremarkable apartments into one modern space full of color and texture. Zames decided on Farrow & Ball's Hague Blue color for the bedroom ceiling to make the space feel more intimate, but juxtaposed it with another wallpaper from Flavor Paper. The bed is from Room & Board and the Fawn tables are by Rich Brilliant Willing.
